Hamilton man charged with 13 felonies for sexual assault of teen girls
A Hamilton man faces 13 felony counts for allegedly forcing two teenage girls to have sex with him over the course of a year.
Brad Edward Daffin, 43, was charged with six counts of sexual intercourse without consent, four counts of sexual assault, and three counts of sexual abuse of children in Ravalli County District Court Monday.
Court records said police were called on Jan. 8 to the home of a 13-year-old girl after a report that she was suicidal.
The next day the girl told her middle school counselor that her depression was due to being sexually assaulted by Daffin at the end of the previous summer, court records said.
The girl told the same story to the school resource officer and a sheriff’s deputy.
In a Jan. 9 forensic interview at Emma’s House, the girl said she met Daffin through another girl.
She told investigators that Daffin forced her to perform oral sex on him at least four times, court records said.
A second forensic interview at Emma’s House was conducted with the 14-year-old girl who had initially made the introduction. She also reported being sexually assaulted by Daffin, court records said.
The mother of the second girl confirmed the girls were friends and went to Daffin’s home to perform chores in exchange for money.
Daffin initially said he knew the 14-year-old, but didn’t know any of her friends.
He later told officers he also knew the 13-year-old and had called and texted the two girls. He also admitted being in his bedroom alone with both girls, court records said.
Daffin also admitted receiving a topless photo on his cell phone – apparently of the two girls – but said he didn’t know who was in the photograph.
Daffin denied any sexual offenses. He admitted that he hugged the 14-year-old girl, court records said.
Acting Justice of the Peace Jennifer Ray set bail at $250,000, with a requirement that Daffin wear a GPS tracking device.
